Ride for Revenge - Under the Eye
2011 / Experimental bestial black metal
Under the Eye is the first album I have checked from Ride
for Revenge and it surely won’t be the last. RFR’s general style would probably
be best described as experimental bestial black metal. I instantly took liking to
the albums random/chaotic nature which just keeps you on your toes as you never
know what’s coming next. The album has a slow, creeping, almost doomy
atmosphere and it is a prime example on how to use plenty of buzz to enhance it
without a horrible overkill. There is more than enough variation between the
tracks for an album only 40 minutes long, and the vocals are just spot on with
every track. Recommended for anyone interested in bestial black metal or slower
black metal.
